Corporate Social Responsibility

Environment

Tullis Russell Papermakers are accredited to the BS EN IS014001 environmental management system. We also have full FSC chain of custody certification to provide added assurance to our customers of the quality and environmental credentials of the products we supply and the processes which support them.

All Papermakers suppliers are carefully approved for their environmental credentials and Papermakers use only ECF pulps from sustainable forests in the production of our papers. The company also offers a growing range of recycled products which are both FSC certified and carry the NAPM recycled mark.

Power Generation

The recent announcement of a development agreement to build a biomass power plant on site will enable the company's products to be made with a very low carbon footprint.

Social Responsibility

As an important local employer, the company takes its local and wider environmental responsibilities extremely seriously and continues to play a leading role not just in reducing the environmental impact of our products and processes but also through an active involvement in the local and national community. Through the Russell Trust, set up in the memory of Patrick Russell who died in action during World War II, the company's activities support a myriad of local charities and educational institutions.

In June 2008 the company appointmed Dr Christine Wood to the newly-created position of Corporate Social Responsibility Manager. This new senior role reinforces the leadership position the company is taking on environmental issues in the widest sense.
