One of Bollington’s oldest residents is proud to help sponsor this year’s festival.
After all, not only is the Tullis Russell Group celebrating its 200th anniversary this year; we have also been coating paper right here in Bollington since 1875.
In the intervening years, we have established a reputation as one of the world’s leading paper coaters, with our trusecurity products trusted by governments and postal authorities in more than 120 countries worldwide, who choose our security coatings for things like postage stamps, visas, passports and security tags.
We’re not just big in government circles either; brands like Wedgwood and Laura Ashley rely on our trucal and trutextile products to help maintain the quality of their finished products, as well as protecting them against counterfeiters.
But while we’re now a global company, we’re immensely proud to have our roots right here. Most of the people who work at Tullis Russell Coaters are locals – and we’re an employee-owned company too.
That’s why we’re pleased to support the local community as much as possible, and not just by sponsoring the Bollington Festival.
We are also proud to support the Bollington Cross Youth Project, which aims to provide a secure area dedicated to the provision of activities for the town’s young people.
We are helping to set the ball rolling by sponsoring Phase 1 of the project, which starts this summer and which will be completed in partnership with Macclesfield Borough Council, Bollington Town Council, Bollington United Junior Football Club and WREN.
When all phases are complete, the project will offer a multi-use games area with a sheltered stand, teen shelter, fencing, floodlighting, community orchard, wildlife garden and the planting of numerous hedges and trees, not to mention an extension to the car park.
All of which is designed to promote a happy, healthy lifestyle for the town’s young people, which in turn should enhance the lives of all local residents.
We are also pleased to have made donations to four local primary schools to help them with a variety of eco projects, from gardening to installing solar panels.
The Kerridge Ridge and Ingersley Vale Countryside and Heritage Project (KRIV) is another very important local initiative, which was set up in 1998 to help maintain the beauty and heritage of the local area. We help out by giving staff the occasional Friday off to work for KRIV doing jobs like clearing paths, maintaining dry stone walls and planting trees. We are also donating 200 trees to them ourselves to celebrate the Tullis Russell Group’s 200 year anniversary.
Of course, while we love Bollington, we also like to think about the environment as a whole. Which is why our corporate responsibility programme involves a significant commitment to waste reduction and recycling; and why we are also at the forefront of providing eco-friendly products for our customers across the globe.
As a company, Tullis Russell Coaters is immensely proud to be one of Bollington’s oldest residents. So we hope you enjoy this year’s Bollington festival. We’re very pleased to be among its sponsors.
