200th Birthday celebrations for Tullis Russell Group
The Tullis Russell Group has been papermaking since 1809 and its subsidiary Tullis Russell Coaters – a leading Specialist Coating Company is based in Bollington, Cheshire. To celebrate the Group’s 200th Anniversary, Tullis Russell Coaters wanted to share its celebration with local schools and ventures to show its commitment to the environment and the local community.
Each of the Bollington Primary schools received a cheque from Stephen Forbes, Managing Director of Tullis Russell Coaters to put towards an ECO friendly project of their choice. These included:
- Bollington Cross C of E School
- St. Gregory’s Primary School
- St. John’s C of E Aided Primary School
- Dean Valley Community Primary School
In addition the KRIV project received a cheque to help plant 200 trees in the local area and a donation was given to the Bollington Cross Youth Project to help fund the first phase of the project. This project will then be joint funded by Macclesfield Borough Council, Bollington Town Council, and Bollington United Football Club to provide construction of a multi use games area and numerous enhancements to the area.
Attendees at the day included the Mayor of Bollington, representatives from KRIV, the Bollington Youth Project and the Heads from each of the primary schools.
All enjoyed a buffet lunch hosted by Stephen Forbes and representatives from Tullis Russell Coaters Ltd. Frances Darbyshire, Marketing Manager for Tullis Russell Coaters stated “The day was a great success and we are pleased that local schools and ventures received our donations. It was great to share our Group’s 200th anniversary celebration with them”.
Tullis Russell Coaters is also a joint sponsor of the forthcoming Bollington Festival held in May.
