Health & Safety

The health & safety of our employees and our environment are particularly important to us. To this end we have a dedicated professional ensuring that the well being of our employees and our care for our environment are at the forefront of our considerations when developing new products or processes.

We have BSI ISO14001 accreditation and health and safety policies that follow the Health and Safety Executives model HS(G)65.

Our Environmental Policy

Our environmental management system is accredited to International Quality Standard, ISO 14001.

We have environmental improvement targets for energy, waste, water and legal compliance – and all our business plans have to adhere to these standards. Wherever possible, our products are designed to use renewable resources and to be recyclable.

We always check our suppliers’ credentials and all of our employees understand that they have a responsibility to improving the impact we have on the outside world.

Energy

We use a combination of gas and electricity in our manufacturing process.

We are signed up to a Climate Change Levy Agreement with the UK Government, committing to, by 2010, reduce energy consumption by up to 80%. Initiatives such as boiler economising, heat exchange and pipe lagging will help us to achieve this goal.

Our energy management plan links directly to the company’s environmental improvement target for a reduction of CO2 emissions up to 2010.
