How to use FOTOCAL FC

Ceramic and Glass Designs
FOTOCAL FC is commonly used to create excellent 'mock ups' of designs for ceramic and glass. This gives an idea of how designs will look, quickly and easily, before investing in screen or litho printing.

Once the decal has been applied to the substrate the end result can be varnished using an epoxy or polyester varnish and stoved at 140°C for up to 20 minutes to improve durability.

Other Applications
FOTOCAL FC is ideal for creating waterslide transfers for substrates that do not require stoving, such as wood, plastic and metal. To create a durable finish, again, varnish over with an epoxy or acrylic varnish.

To Use
Peel away the tissue liner. The shiny side should receive the print. Always use the hand feed tray on photocopiers if available. Once printed, cut around the pattern, relatively close to the edge of the design and immerse the image in luke warm water. The transfer will curl. Once it begins to uncurl, rub it gently between the fingers. The film should release from the paper. Once it begins to release the transfer can be applied to the substrate. Smooth it out with a squeegee or finger to expel air bubbles. Leave to dry for approximately 2 hours before varnishing.

FOTOCAL FC can be used with most colour copiers/laser printers including Canon, Xerox, Ricoh and Mintola models, or colour machines which run with a fusing temperature below 180°C. Users should satisfy themselves as to the suitability of this product for use on their specific colour copiers or laser printers.
